06  How do I send money home

Many foreigners have student loan or credit card debt or mortgage to be paid, so it's important to find out the ways of transferring money to your bank account back home.

You will need to convert your money to foreign currency first. As foreigner you are only allowed to transfer $500 per day without paperwork to prove that the money was legitimately earned. If you need to transfer more than that, then you will need to provide Employment Contract, Payslip and Taxation form to prove it's legal income and the tax has been paid. Chinese nations are allowed to transfer $2000 per day and $50,000 per year.

There're two common ways to send money home.

1. Banks

After transferring the money into foreign currency, you need to provide all the bank information  (bank name, branch name, branch's address, account number, SWIFT code and routing number) for money transfer.

2. West Union

You need to transfer the money into foreign currency before you go to a West Union. You also need to provide all the bank information for the transfer.
